Punjab Schools To Revert To Regular Timings from Next Month

31st Jan 2024; Punjab Schools new timings:In light of the prevailing chilly weather in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, and other districts of Punjab, the Punjab Government had temporarily revised school timings to ensure the safety and well-being of students. As per the earlier directive, all schools, including private institutions, were required to operate from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM until January 31, 2024.

However, in a recent development, authorities have announced that schools will revert to their regular timings starting February 10, 2024. From this date onward, all schools across Punjab, both public and private, will resume operations at their usual schedule, opening at 8:30 AM and concluding at 2:30 PM.

On 31st Jan Using social media platform CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi stated that “In view of the upcoming general elections on 8th February, Provincial Cabinet has approved that all public and private sector schools, colleges, and universities in Punjab will be closed from Feb 6th to Feb 9th. 9:30 am timing for schools will only be observed till 3rd February. Regular school timings will be observed later on.”

This decision comes as a relief to students, parents, and teachers who had adapted to the adjusted timings. The move to return to the standard schedule is aimed at providing consistency and facilitating a smooth transition back to the regular routine.

The education department appreciates the cooperation of all stakeholders during this period and assures that the decision is made with the best interests of the students and the educational community in mind.
